The Mississauga Centre MP Youth Council (MCYC) will provide young professionals with the opportunity to offer their input and feedback to their MP and government. The Council will also open up a window to young people who are interested in learning about government and public policy.
“Young people have an important perspective that can benefit our government and our society. I am looking for diverse, engaged and passionate individuals to provide me with meaningful advice and ideas on how to deal with the challenges and opportunities that lay before us as a nation,” said Omar Alghabra
Appointments to the MCYC will be for a one-year term. The Council will meet several times through
out the year to discuss issues that matter to them, their community and country. High school students, post-secondary students, young professionals and skilled trade workers are encouraged to apply.
“Prime Minister Trudeau has been leading the charge in inviting young people to take their rightful place at the table. I’m excited about the MCYC initiative and look forward to its success,” said Alghabra.
The application to join the MCYC is now available online here. Young participants between the ages of 16 to 24 who reside in Mississauga Centre are invited to apply. Applications deadline is October 31, 2017.
